Plans to build a 67 convertible Crown conversion
This is my 67 I have had 10 years and purchased from original owner from Gastonia, NC for $950.00. I've been waiting to build a V8 for years. I also purchased a complete V8 Crown as a donor car and will post pics of it later. I started by removing the interior, motor , trans and differential and stripped the underside of all factory parts to prep for removing floor.
December, 2019 Update
Trans, diff, bell housing and subframe out from donor car. Differential is a 355 open end 2 spider gears. I will be upgrading to a 327 posi unit with 4 spider gears. Ready to start on fab work to put in subframe into convertible.
February, 2021 Update
The floor has been cut for the Crown Frame.
This Crown frame is made for a hardtop not a convertible. To use the factory seat belt holes the frame has to be shortened by about 1 1/2 inches. also the ends have to be cut and redesigned to accept the convertible frame.
