George Jones, '65 Crown V8 Convertible - Pickens, South Carolina
I have a 1965 Monza Convertible with a 355 cu. in. Crown conversion. It is an original, rust free North Carolina car which hasn't spent much time outside. It has a custom roll cage to stiffen the chassis, four wheel disc brakes and AutoMeter supplemental gauges. It still sports the factory original Regal Red lacquer paint, although it is severely checked from age. At this time it has no dog house and the seats are from a late 90's Toyota Celica, but those will change, along with the paint and the rest of the interior. I do not have a current photo of the car, but will forward an old one as soon as I can get to my other computer.
January, 2017 Update
For Christmas I splurged on a FAST EFI system to replace the troublesome Edlebrock carb. Installation has come to a halt for the time being while I do some travel for work. I've also got to make some decisions regarding fuel tank replacement and location as well as exhaust configuration, and still need to address some cooling issues (that's why I'm considering relocation of the fuel tank to the rear). My goal is to get it back on the road, with new black paint, for the 2018 convention in my home town.
