I finally started my own V8 Vair, using a former ITA Corvair racecar. It is powered by a Chevy LS1 bolted to a Mendeola SDR 5 speed transaxle. I'm swapping the suspension - front and rear, from a Porsche 993, which is a modern multilink with big disk brakes as well as rack and pinion steering.

Unfortunately, I have not yet begun the front suspension, which will the front suspension Porsche 993. There will be 4 wheel Porsche disc brakes .
The other cool factor will a dry sump oil system. Radiator will be in trunk with tubing to engine like most V8 cars. I'm thinking of a 20-25 gal fuel tank/cell with submerged fuel pump |
