Larry Boardman, Crown V8 Coupe - Weatogue, Connecticut
Larry's car has been sold.
I just bought this car in WI. It was built in 1972 in the Boston Area by Tom Dexter. It looks like it has had minimal changes over the years. Power is a 1965 Corvette 327/300 based on block casting numbers and date.
The throw out bearing went bad plus you had to THE HULK to push in the pedal. I pulled the transaxle and am waiting for the pilot bearing to be machined. The project did snowball to include converting to dual circuit master cylinder, new clutch master cylinder, all of the bushings for the transaxle, new brake and clutch lines, new shocks, new U joints and the list goes on. My goal is to have the major stuff done by April 1st.
November, 2016 Update
History: This car had the Crown Kit installed in 1970 with a 396 big block for drag racing in Massachusetts. After several transmission breakages, the engine was replaced with a full race 327. It was sold in 1970 with a stock 327/300 Corvette engine from a 1965 Corvette. We just finished a 2 year update including new fuel, cooling, clutch and dual master brake systems.
