These photos will document the build up of our in-house shop vehicle; a 1965 Corvair that is being constructed for road race duty. Affectionately named Nader Hater because of the ties to Ralph Nader's "Unsafe At Any Speed" which essentially killed the Corvair's production. We're taking a few liberties with this car such as swapping the engine location from rear to front, utilizing C5 Corvette suspension, a custom built LS3, T56 Magnum 6 speed trans, Dutchman axles IRS using a Strange 9" 3rd member with 4.11 gears and a Wavetrac differential, Wilwood brakes, Forgeline wheels, BFG Rival S 315/35/18 tires on all four corners, QA1 dual adjust shocks, Auto Meter gauges, Sparco seats and steering wheel, the list goes on. We're hoping this combination will offer more grip than the factory car and will hopefully be safe at just about any speed. This is a collaboration between FFRS and Midwest Metalworks here in Eau Claire and the projected completion will be late spring 2018. Stay tuned!
