My first new car was a '61 Monza coupe followed by a new '62 Spyder convertible. After that a '66 427 Vette which I traded in on a new '66 Yenko Stinger ll and converted it to a Corv8 with a '69 302 crate motor. After selling that car I built a '65 Monza Kelmark 283. I'm having a local hot rod shop do the build as I turned 80 this year & don't have the facilities to do the required work. I intend to document the whole project in case someone else is contemplating a similar build.

I purchased a Tesla kit from EV West in Feb/20 & it has yet to arrive due to the unexpected demand for Tesla motors & a Covid shutdown. I have C6 wheels, tires and brakes, and will be using electric rack and pinion steering as well as Mustang ll style front suspension. The car has PWs & PDLs & will have A/C using an electric compressor. I was inspired by the Electrovair ll and just wanted to bring it up to date using the latest parts as the GM engineers might have done.
The Electrovair ll was a 4-door & was my inspiration. Unless the engine remains in the rear as in the aluminum BOP conversions, 4-doors are even less practical as a V8 conversion but since the Tesla motor/ final drive is so compact, it makes for a good choice. I assume that is why the GM engineers chose the 4-door to illustrate the compact size of the electric motor. I think the motor they used was about 100hp but the Tesla “P” is over 500hp!
Also the 4-door makes a bit more of a surprise when the performance is unleashed……..

My car is finally stripped & mounted on a rotisserie awaiting media blasting of the underbody in preparation for the new suspension & motor mounts.
