Bob Brownell - Laramie, Wyoming. New Project!
August, 2021 -Sandhills Open Road Challenge
February, 2021 Update
5 year project. Coil over front suspension. Push rod rear. 3x3 perimeter frame built into rocker panels 2x3 tube stubs attached to it. All suspension parts, spindles hand made. 13" wilwood 4 piston brakes. have already put 10,000 miles on it in 2 years.
The project car is that - a project. I have run out of things on the 66 without major work. So I decided to apply all the things I have learned and the things I wanted to do to the 66 and start over. It is a 69 model. When finished it will be completely tube framed with coil over front and rear suspension designed by me. I also designed and built the spindles as you can see. I am using a Porsche G50 5 spd transaxle. The engine will be a small block 406 which will make 550 hp at sea level. One thing about Laramie is we are at 7200 ft, so I lose about 20% power due to lack of air.
