1966 Corsa Turbocharged Original Crown conversion. Updated with Mark Irons adapter to use a TCI powerglide and Corvette C5 Rear axle. C5 brakes, ZZ4 350 8.3/1 compression ratio, Gale Banks intercooled twin turbochargers @16 psi. boost - 500hp / 750 lb-ft torque. 11.3 sec 1/4 mile @132 mph. Street driven, shown regularly in the Northwest, Good Guys, etc. Great fun - well balanced in autocross. Owned since 1969.
Equipped with custom wound springs and anti-roll bars and fast steering designed to exceed 1G cornering capability (1.02 by G-Tec pro). Weighing in at 2910 pounds with 49/51 weight distribution. Asphalt gripping 10.5 in. wide 255 by 50 15's/16's Goodrich tires. Fully independent trailing arm articulated 4 link rear suspension. 12 in. disk brakes all around assures 70 to 0 at 117 feet.
ZZ4 partial engine SBC, Speed Pro 21cc dished forged pistons, total seal rings, Edelbrock Performer RPM 64cc aluminum heads, Crane hydraulic roller cam and kit. Nodular Iron radiused crankshaft with rolled fillets, forged powdered connecting rods and fluidamper, balanced. Holly Stealth Ram MPEFI, wide band O2 sensor, MSD crank trigger ignition controlled by Holly commander 950 pro ECU with 50 PPH injectors. Banks Engineering Twin turbo system with Rajay style Compressors A/R .70 Turbines. A/R .96 with cast exhaust manifolds, 14 PSI wastegates and a Custom Bell intercooler. Griffen circle track aluminum radiator and an aircraft oil cooler assures 180 to 210 degree engine temps.
Drive Train is TCI Streetfighter 10" 3000-3400 stall converter with 350 Turbo Hydramatic splined 1:82 low TCI Powerglide (711184) adapted to a C5 Corvette Getrag 3:42/1 posi axle thru Duchman modified short CV shafts to C5 bearing carriers adapted to the Corvair trailing arms, shifted by TCI Outlaw shifter.
This rig makes 675 ft.lb. torque and 500 HP at the rear wheels reliably and is a GAS to drive. Built by me in one half of a two car garage. Started in 1969 and still progressing today.

September, 2014 - The Corv-8 starting a burn out at the GoodGuys Spokane get together. This was a mid 11 second run at 132 mph.
