1966 Monza Coupe with a LS3-480hp crate motor
The body is steel with the exception of the hood and deck lid which are composite to reduce weight. The color is Ruby Red with black tint. A standard Ford color from a few years ago. The stripes and YENKO on the rear quarters are black mist and easily missed at first glance. The frame is a free standing piece with a center spine which houses all wiring and fluid piping from the front to the rear. The frame is attached to the unibody at multiple locations making for a very rigid assembly. The suspension components mostly C4 Corvette.
The engine is an LS3-480hp crate motor. The intake is rotated 180 deg. with the air intake through the grill below the rear window. Cooling uses a Meziere electric pump and custom aluminum radiator. Alternator and ac compressor are frame mounted and driven of the front pulley with tensioners. Headers are hand built with collectors feeding a crossover muffler and exhaust pipes. All exhaust components are ceramic coated inside and out. Lubrication is a wet sump system with a 6 1/2 quart fully baffled road course pan. An oil cooler with fan is mounted under rear window grille.
The transaxle is from a 76 Porsche 930. It is a short bellhousing 4 speed with Porsche's version of Posi traction. It is inverted to correct rotation and has a Kennedy clutch and flywheel. It is cable shifted with one off linkage.
