October, 2021 Great Fanbelt Toss / V8 Registry Meeting

We had a good turnout for the lunch meeting of the V-8 registry in Palm Springs this last Saturday. We started at noon and didn't end until after 2:30. We could probably have used another hour or two. Maybe next year we could start at 11 to have more time to look at pictures and talk before lunch.

Members and Guests:
We had 10 members attend. Of the ten, 2 were from the San Diego area, 4 from L.A. area, 1 from Salt Lake City, UT, 1 from Scottsdale, AZ., 1 from Petaluma, CA. (Sonoma), NorCal, and 1 from Madeira Park, British Columbia, Canada. There were also 3 spouses attending.

We had 2 guests from the Toss, Darrin Graham and brother Dana, (See Corvair Forum, search '427 BBC v8 Corvair', for 15 pages of great build details). For a total of 15 attendees.

Members cars:
There were 3 members with  conversions at the show, 1 Crown, (Toby Brown), 1 transverse V6 early model, (Jay Maechtlen), and 1 transverse V6 late model, (Jaime Gonzalez).  Don Young had a beautiful stock 1965 Turbo convertible on display. (His Toro conversion nearing completion at home).
