V-8 Registry Newsletter, Volume 13, Issue 1
V-8 Registry Members,
Wishing everyone well, especially those members dealing with the California wildfires and those in the Midwest that were buried in snow and sub-freezing weather. Let's hope that none of our members experienced the loss of life, homes or historic vehicles.
RENEWAL TIME IS ENDING
As previously indicated, this is the last reminder to members to renew your membership. On February 15, 2025 the cost to renew your membership increases from $10 to $30. We initiated this change in dues to encourage early renewals and to discourage renewals stretching into July when your officers are involved with personal seasonal activities. To renew your membership, here's the link:

WEBSITE UNDER RECONSTRUCTION
Membership renewals are unfortunately being slowed by website issues which you may have already experienced. Rick Andersen our Webmaster/VP is rebuilding our site and using a new provider. Problems with Internet backup and support have prompted the decision to rebuild the site now. The timing is bad, but unfortunately necessary. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we expect a better product when Rick is finished. Access may be delayed for several more days. Thanks for your patience.
2025 CORSA CONVENTION
The 2025 CORSA Convention scheduled for Tuesday May 20 to Friday May 23, 2025 is still on track, but the location has changed. The Radisson cancelled their contract. The convention will now take place in San Luis Obispo at the Embassy Suites. You can call the hotel directly to make hotel reservation. To receive the convention room rate indicate that you are attending the 'CORSA Car Club Meeting". The phone number is 805-549-0800. Rooms rates are $139 for a KING and $129 for a DOUBLE QUEEN. To book a room in the host hotel we advise early reservations because the hotel space is limited and filling up fast.
CORVAIRS WITH ELECTRIC POWER STEERING
The V-8 Registry is sponsoring a Technical Session during the San Luis Obispo CORSA Convention. On Wednesday May 21 Ken Rosenbusch of ePowerSteering.com will make a presentation on adding electric power steering to your Corvair. If you are attending the convention and have electric power steering on your Corvair, please call me. We would like you to display your car and demo the power steering to those attending the session.
PERFORMANCE CORVAIR WORKSHOP FOR 2025
Talked with Logan Dernosheck about a workshop for 2025 and he indicates that there are no plans that he knows of for this year. If an announcement comes forth, we will notify you.
V-8 REGISTRY FORUM
Lastly, I direct you to the V-8 Registry Forum which is still functioning while Rick rebuilds our V-8 Registry Internet site. There is a posting from last year that may be quite beneficial to our taller members (above 5'10") who want to build or own a Crown Conversion, but are concerned about comfort when entering or sitting. There is a cure. Mike Vannozzi, a new member sent some pictures and links to two Internet businesses that offer a kit to relocate the accessories on an SBC engine. You can logon to the Forum from this link:
www.v8registryforum.com
Once on the site login with your username and password. If you don't know it or remember it you can contact Rick and he will assign you a new login or remind you of the one on file. Rick's email address is:
[email protected] .Click on the 9th TOPIC down entitled CROWN CONVERSIONS. Click on the first posting listed to see all the details. The kit is available from: https://www.renegadehyrids.com/914sbc.html and https://www.desert-hybrids.com/ If you have questions or comments, you are welcome to call me.
Until the next time, GO FAST, BUT STAY SAFE
