Crown Corvair Conversion Parts
$2,000 for the batch
These are the two crucial parts you need to put a Mid-engine Chevrolet small block V8 in a 1965 to 1969 Chevrolet Corvair, using a Crown setup.
Selling as a package, including a Crown subframe and Crown adapted, Corvair 4 speed transmission that are in excellent condition. Asking $2,000.
The Crown Mfg Company made these parts in the late 60s and 70s. These are the parts, including the Crown Input shaft and bellhousing mount, that haven't been available in many years.
The subframe was unwrapped from the original packaging it was shipped in from Crown in the 1970s. Its NOS essentially.
The Crown adapted transmission was gone through recently and was pulled from a good running V8 conversion to be replaced with an automatic trans. The transmission is ready to go and has the rearward linkage to adapt to the Corvair manual shifter assembly, you will need to modify your shift tube per the Crown Manual (Available from Clarks).
You will need to use the stock or upgraded Corvair axle (differential) from a 66 to 69 manual Corvair with the 6-bolt mount pattern. If you have a 66 up manual car you already have this part. The front of the Crown trans bolts to any GM 4 speed bellhousing. You can use a hydraulic clutch cylinder (Hydraulic throw-out bearing) available from Speedway Motors or others to simplify the clutch linkage, I have done this several times and can show you how its done.
This trans could be used with a Corvette C5 Differential as an upgrade using an adapter if desired to eliminate the Corvair Differential.
I'm looking for pickup in New Buffalo, Michigan. Call Tony 708, seven five one, 1703.
