This car had been taken out of a Junk Yard when it was built. I bought this car in pieces and stripped to bare metal back around 1983. This car was originally blue, but when I first saw it the car was white. I had it painted Black. I later sourced a Kelmark Differential cover for it. I had it painted and enjoyed it for 16 years then sold it in 1999, which I almost immediately regretted. Unfortunately the individual I sold the car to did not treat it with respect such a car deserves and sold it a year or maybe two later. That individual purchased only what was absolutely necessary and fabricated what could be made.
The individual that purchased the car was a Corvair enthusiast and had plans but the car sat untouched in a garage less than 30 miles from where I live for the next 20 plus years. When he passed, his son reached out to me to learn more about it so he could speak intelligently about it while trying to sell it. As it turned out, I bought the car back and it will hopefully once again see better days.
I belonged to the V8 Registry in it's original format but when it closed down, I never bothered to re-join until now. Two members of Group Corvair that I belonged to had V8 Corvairs, one was Pete Frailey and the other was John "Mike" Harrison both from Gaithersburg, MD and both individuals I counted as friends.
