V-8 REGISTRY
ANNUAL MEETING-San Luis Obispo, CA CONVENTION
MAY 21, 2025
The Annual Meeting of the V-8 Registry was held during the CORSA International Convention in San Luis Obispo, CA. The meeting was conducted in the Los Osos Room of the Embassy Suites on Thursday, May 21, 2025. The meeting was called to order at 7:35 PM. by Acting Chairman Chuck Rust who expressed regrets that the president John Lanning was not attending. Approximately 30 members and guests were in attendance, but no sign in sheet was provided. No CORSA Officers, Directors or V-8 Registry officers were in attendance.
Minutes from the 2024 meeting were posted on the Registry website and were approved without additions or corrections. Copies of the Financial Statement for the previous 12 months will not be available until July resulting in no report. A copy of the report will be posted for viewing on the V-8 Registry website after July 31, 2025.
OLD BUSINESS
At the May Annual Meeting Acting Chairman Chuck Rust asked members to review their conversion projects with those attending.
Chairman Rust displayed the V-8 Registry t-shirts that are now available from the V-8 Registry website. The shirts received a favorable review. Previously, shirts were provided by Acting-Chairman Rust until his recent retirement from his silkscreening business.
The topic of group officers for 2026 was not discussed and no vote for officers was initiated. The current officers will continue to serve the V-8 Registry through 2026. None of the members in attendance indicated an interest in offering to serve as an officer of the group.
NEW BUSINESS
The People’s Choice Award was awarded to Jaime Gonzales for his excellent 1965 Corvair Conversion featuring a 1998 Pontiac GTP Supercharged 3.8 V-6 drivetrain. Mr. Rust presented Jaime with the official plaque for 2025.
The Acting Chairman announced that this is the fifth time for offering the Ted Trevor Award that was introduced in 2021 by CORSA for Corvairs competing from Class SM-2 and SC-1. He also announced that a check for $100 would be awarded to the winner.
With no further business to transact the meeting adjourned at 8:35 PM and door prizes were awarded. Minutes of the meeting will be submitted to CORSA.
